The NACCC is grateful for our partnership with Convoy of Hope, one of the trusted relief organizations our One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) crisis relief fund works through to support communities in need. Their compassion, experience, and on-the-ground presence help ensure that your gifts reach those who need them most.

This end-of-year “Thank You” video from Convoy of Hope expresses their appreciation for the generosity of NACCC churches and their congregants, and highlights the impact of their relief efforts throughout 2025. We’re thankful to join with them in bringing hope and help where it’s needed most.

In the August 15, 2025, edition of The Messenger, The Mission and Outreach Ministry Council (MOMC) is receiving One Great Hour of Sharing donations designated for 2025 Milwaukee Area Flood Relief. Funds will go to vetted individuals, organizations, NACCC mission partners providing aid, and NACCC churches with flood damage.

One Great Hour of Sharing – 2025 Milwaukee Area Flood Relief

A State of Emergency has been declared across the Milwaukee area due to historic amounts of rain and record-shattering flooding. Four rivers hit record high levels, thousands are without power, and roads have been damaged. The National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) is actively monitoring the needs of those impacted.

As a result of this need, the Mission and Outreach Ministry Council (MOMC) is gratefully receiving One Great Hour of Sharing Disaster donations designated to 2025 Milwaukee Area Flood Relief. These funds will be distributed to vetted individuals, organizations, and NACCC mission partners providing aid, as well as NACCC churches that have experienced flood damage.

Donations may be made online via PayPal or Venmo.

Please be sure to designate your donation to:

An Update on Texas Flood Relief – Convoy of Hope

NACCC Mission Affiliate Convoy of Hope is on the ground in Texas, providing desperately needed relief to communities that have been devastated by recent flooding.

As of this afternoon, Convoy of Hope has served more than 6,854 individuals and distributed 130,962 pounds of products to those in need across five Texas communities.

Your donations to the NACCC’s One Great Hour of Sharing Disaster – Texas Flood Relief Fund help them deliver urgently needed supplies and assistance.

As catastrophic flash flooding devastates central Texas, the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) is closely monitoring the needs of those impacted. The floods have claimed 109 lives across six counties, including at least 28 children, and many more remain missing.

The Mission and Outreach Ministry Council (MOMC) is gratefully receiving One Great Hour of Sharing Disaster (OGHS – Disaster) donations to be distributed to vetted individuals, organizations, and NACCC mission partners providing aid, as well as NACCC churches that are actively involved in offering relief.

Our mission affiliate, Convoy of Hope, is on the ground to support the affected areas. Your donations will help them deliver urgently needed supplies and assistance.

As the California wildfires continue to cause devastation across the Los Angeles area, the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (NACCC) is closely monitoring the needs of those impacted.

The Mission and Outreach Ministry Council (MOMC) is gratefully receiving One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) donations, to be distributed to vetted individuals, organizations, and NACCC mission partners providing aid as well as NACCC churches that are either directly impacted by the fires or actively involved in providing relief to those in need.

Thoughts: Stasis

The word “stasis” denotes motionlessness, inertia, immobility, or, simply, the status quo. Stasis is a lack of change. “Change,” on the other hand, denotes transformation, shifts, and adjustments. Who was one of the major change agents in the world? I would vote for Jesus.

The Torah was the Law for centuries. By complying with the many rules of the Torah, the Israelites were assured they were righteous before the divine. When Jesus announced he came not to abolish that Way, but to fulfill it, he altered our approach to God. Through his teaching and resurrection, our relationship with God is fulfilled – a transformation. When we open ourselves to the Holy Spirit, we live a new life for ourselves, our fellow congregants, and our communities. St. Peter tells us what was spoken through the prophet Joel: “God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.”

What were the dreams of the founders of your church? How have those dreams developed? How are they being fulfilled? What are the current visions of your congregation? How do the teachings of Jesus resonate with your community? Is your church a change agent? Or is it, or are you, stuck in stasis?

(Note: ‘Thoughts’ are Barry’s musings based upon scripture and remain his own opinions, and not those of the National Association, though he prays that they are meaningful to all.)

One Great Hour of Sharing Impact

Over the last 12 months, the NACCC, through the MOMC, has been able to distribute One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) funds in the name of Christ toward:

• Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief

• Iowa flood relief

• Gaza disaster relief
• Home repairs and food for families in need
• Mission partners’ medical expenses

• Mission partners’ building and equipment repairs
• And more!

To ensure that reserve funds are available when needed, please consider donating to the OGHS General Fund throughout the year. Your contributions make a real difference in the lives of others!

The NACCC is best able to serve our member churches when our staff and leaders are in regular contact with your church leadership. This helps us stay informed about your church’s needs and desires, ensuring that we can offer the right resources and support and keep you aware of the opportunities we have to offer.
