One Great Hour of Sharing

What Now?

Jodee Lord, Moderator

This past week we joined together either in person or virtually in Spokane, Washington for our 70th Annual Meeting and Conference. We worshiped together, we had fellowship, we listened, we learned, we had conversations, we shared, and we discussed.

I pray that you were uplifted and inspired by what you experienced. Now, I encourage you to share your experience with your congregation, Pastors, boards and committees. Share your excitement for new ways, ideas and the lessons you have learned, and try to implement them into your church life.

I am excited as I look ahead to our time together next year in St. Louis. I encourage you to bring a friend or two to share the excitement and joy.

Blessings to you and God be with you till we meet again.

Emerging from the Annual Meeting

Rev. Martin Hall, Vice-Moderator

As we emerge from the Annual Meeting and Conference of the NACCC in Spokane, WA, I’m thrilled to be able to report that your Board of Directors has been hard at work in securing the future leadership of our Association.  A team of nine participants from around the Association have responded to the call (all with honor and commitment, I might add) to serve the crucial role of searching for a new Executive Director for the NACCC.  With a charge, budget and job description in hand, the committee is eagerly setting out on this critical task.

The members of the Executive Director Search Committee are Rebekah Barsch (Congregational Foundation representative), Katie Kribbs (member at-large), Mark McCormick (member at-large), Emily Raasch (member at-large), Curt Schmidt (Board of Directors representative), Joanne Simpson (Missions and Outreach Ministry Council representative), Rob Tarr (Vitality Ministry Council representative), Ron Toliver (Growth Ministry Council representative), and Jerry Zwaga (member at-large).

We are deeply grateful to the members of the 2023-2024 Board of Directors for moving so thoughtfully and efficiently on this process, and to this faithful team of individuals who have stepped in to commit their time and talents to the search that is to come.  More will most certainly come forth about the search in the coming months.  For now, however, we beseech your prayers for this team and all that stands before them as they seek the individual who will lead our beloved NACCC in the years ahead.

Keeping Everyone Informed

Varn Philbrook, Congregational Foundation Board of Governors

In conjunction with the NACCC Annual Meeting & Conference, recently held in beautiful Spokane, WA, your Congregational Foundation members held one of their in-person meetings there at the same time. This meeting time format allowed the Board of Governors to conduct our usual business, but we were able to also participate in the plenary sessions, sitting down face to face with all of the NA Leadership.

This time allowed us to share ideas, understand who is doing what and most importantly it allows the Foundation to inform the councils and boards about the NA budgeting process and highlight the source of their income from related endowed funds. This is so important when we consider the turnover in leadership that occurs yearly at this meeting – keeping everyone informed!
